“Interior design is like fashion – it’s always changing. I go out of my way to do something different,” says Perla Lichi, famed international interior designer and Parkland resident.

Her trademark luxury designs are highly sought after, from the princes of Dubai to local celebrities like Scottie Pippen. Her showroom in Coral Springs is a testament to her creativity, with colorful vignettes often topped with a handmade throw she knit herself.

Lichi’s design style is as eclectic as the globetrotter herself.

In fact, her inspiration stems from her travels and the cultures she’s encountered.“The evolution of styles comes with travel and knowledge of how different people live. You can learn technique in school, but seeing different parts of the world is essential to understanding what has been done through the ages,” she says. “That has inspired me to develop my own style by taking those elements and fusing them together and creating what people call the ‘Perla Lichi Style.’”Lichi’s own 5,000-square-foot home in Parkland reflects her love of classicism, rich detailing and opulence. It gives new meaning to the adage, “your home is your palace.”

Grecian-inspired twin caryatids frame the entryway of the dining room where a glass chandelier hangs from a center medallion in the hand-gilded ceiling. A display case houses Perla Lichi’s collectibles.

The foyer ceiling showcases an original, hand-painted Mannerist mural with speckled molding detailing. The chandelier and stairway railing boast crystal insets.

The master bedroom boasts a hand-carved two-poster Roman column bed and custom ceiling mural reminiscent of Michelangelo’s “The Creation of Adam.”

The master bathroom is home to his and her showers and single tub. The ornate ceiling treatment and wrought-iron chandelier give a sense of dimension to the space. An etched glass panel with golden filigree framed by roman columns overlooks the tub.
