The Gateway to Beauty Sleep
We all know the beauty benefits of good sleep, but what happens when you’re having trouble falling asleep? This can be solved with food that is high in the amino acid tryptophan, which the body uses to make the sleep inducing hormone melatonin. Foods that contain tryptophan, and therefore make you sleepy, include diary (remember that warm glass of milk that Mom made for you?) and poultry, along with leafy greens and beans. So eat a sleepy snack if you’re having trouble drifting off – then look better in the morning!
